At Summerfield Farms, we believe in full transparency. In a world where labels can be misleading, we’re committed to doing the research, reading the labels, and sharing everything—from our raising practices to the ingredients in every product on our shelves. We want you to know exactly where your food comes from. That’s why our beef comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee—or your money back.
How is your beef different from organic or conventional beef?
We go beyond organic standards by focusing on holistic, regenerative practices that prioritize animal welfare and environmental health. Our cattle are raised exclusively on their mother’s milk and natural grasses—never receiving hormones, steroids, antibiotics, or grain. Through rotational grazing, our cattle are always on fresh pasture and never confined to feedlots.
What certifications do your cattle have?
Our cattle are certified by the American Grassfed Association (AGA). This certification ensures our cattle are raised on pasture, never given grain, and are free from hormones, antibiotics, and GMOs throughout their entire lives.
How do you manage your pastures?
Our pastures are USDA Certified Organic, meaning we never use herbicides or pesticides. Instead, we rely on natural methods like manual weed eating and bush hogging to control weeds and maintain healthy, nutrient-rich soil for our cattle and our planet.
Why is your pricing higher than some other sources?
As a small regenerative farm committed to raising cattle without shortcuts, it simply takes longer for our animals to reach finishing weight—without grain, hormones, or steroids. We also don’t benefit from the bulk shipping discounts that larger operations receive. Despite this, we work hard to keep our prices as affordable as possible while delivering premium, nutrient-dense, 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef you can trust.
How is your beef packaged for shipping?
We carefully pack each order in a sturdy box with a compostable insulation liner and several pounds of dry ice to ensure your beef stays frozen in transit. We never use Styrofoam—our eco-friendly packaging reflects our commitment to sustainability.
What days do you ship?
Perishables (including beef): Mondays and Wednesdays
Non-perishables: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
Which carrier do you use?
All orders are shipped via FedEx for reliable and timely delivery.
Why is there sometimes no dry ice left when I open my package?
Dry ice sublimates (turns from solid to gas) as it keeps your beef frozen. It’s completely normal for it to evaporate during shipping, especially if the package was in transit for more than a day.
Is my beef safe if there is no dry ice but it's still cold or frozen?
Yes. If your beef arrives frozen or cold to the touch, it’s safe to consume.
What if my beef arrives thawed?
If your beef arrives thawed and warm, please do not consume it. Contact us immediately at TheMarket@summerfieldfarms.com, and we’ll make it right with a replacement.
Can I safely refreeze my beef?
According to USDA guidelines, beef thawed in the refrigerator (below 40°F) can be safely refrozen, though quality may decrease slightly. Do not refreeze any meat that has been left out for more than two hours, or one hour if temperatures exceed 90°F.
Is shipping free?
We offer free shipping to North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. For all other states, shipping costs are calculated at checkout to ensure safe, temperature-controlled delivery nationwide.
Why is the price on the beef label different from what I paid online?
The label reflects our in-store pricing. Online orders include additional costs like dry ice, compostable insulation, and eco-conscious packaging—all necessary to maintain product quality during shipping.
